Flying Lessons!

Wow, its been a while. So much to catch up on. But for now, I will just say: for those of you who dont know, I am back in school. It has been a long time coming. But I graduate in May! YAY! So excited.
So this sememster I am taking a creative writing course, and Angela our professor, instructed us to go out and make our own adventure. Me being me, I had to try something new and somewhat scary.
I chose to do something that made me feel like I was in charge for a change since that isnt a feeling I get to have very often since I got sick. I will save you guys from most of the details for now (since I am giving my entire class this link, and I am sure they are already tired of hearing me talk), but enjoy!
Is eight thousand feet above sea level a bad place to know you want to change your mind on what you consider an adventure? Clinging to the steering column for dear life, and praying to God that I make it out of this alive, all while singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to myself in my head...this is my story.
Me and Jason on the ride there, where I ultimately annoyed him with all of my redundant questions about whether or not he thought I was going to be able to do loops in the air.
So Excited. Like a kid in a candy store.
Ohhhhh No, what did I get myself into?

Me in all of my 5'2 on a good day (in heels) glory, still not being as tall as the tiny little plane

All of the gauges that helped me understand absolutely nothing about flying.

YAY! Im in the plane now, lets GO!

You cant really tell from this picture but my foot was about 2 feet from actually being able to touch the peddles.

What I could see before the pillows I had to sit on...

What I could see after...

Jason and my dad. Neither of them had enough faith in me to actually come with. It turns out when you fail at taking a flight simulator test, people around you start to doubt your capabilities. WEIRD. And may I add RUDE!

I was a little scared at this point. I was in the plane. ALONE. The old guy (see pic below) was about to be "helped" in, and when he finally did get in, everyone congradulated him like it was a MAJOR feat. Needless to say...the pouty lip was justified.

This next twenty or so minutes while he was explaining what each one of the gauges was for felt excruitiatingly long

My head phones were malfunctioning and I couldnt hear anything. Finally, I just ended up taking them off to hear what he was trying to say.

And Were OFF!

That little spec of a plane is ME!

Me taxiing back, which you do with your feet instead of your feet by the way.

Me and my pillows I had to sit on to see. Or kind of see...

I was suprised when I asked him if I could get a couple of pictures with him he said yes. After how many times I screamed in his ear during the flight, I thought he would hate me forever.

The cutest old man ever! Oh and me...

My lovely husband thought that this was a funny book. Ironically this is the same man who scares me just for the fun of it every chance he gets! And everyone wonders why Im so mean to HIM... And yes, that does say: How to CRASH an Airplane.

Spikey

Well as most of you know we lost a very intricate part of our family on Easter. It was probably one of the hardest things we have had to go through in quite a while. I think the only thing keeping us from breaking down every two seconds is the fact that we know God does everything for a reason. Its still really hard though considering how fast it all happened and how little amount of time we got to actually spend with him. We only had him for 2 years, but for those 2 years he completed us. There are times when I still expect to see him wiggling his little butt and snotting all over the place when we walk through the door. So I thought I would post some pictures of our baby boy.

Vegas...and probably other random ramblings.....

So I have no clue what my issue is.....I enjoy blogging I really do....letting everyone catch up and see pictures I would rather be burned....LOL....but for some reason I always forget to include it as part of my day....which is funny because I get on here and read everyone elses blog every day...and get disappointed when they dont have anything new and interesting to share with me and the rest of the voyeurs.....and anti socials.....

And yet I continue to not blog....and not even necessarily because I have a good excuse not to.... ( I mean its not football season anymore).....sad.....it really is....so I will try and begin where I left off six months ago.....VEGAS.....One of my favorite places on earth.....where you never know the time because it doesnt matter and where the laws of food and sleep have never even pretended to exist.....
Here we are before we left to go and see Criss Angel...From what I remember believe was interesting...(and no Im not just getting old and have problems remembering shows.....although I am.....Im not sure I can remember what I had for lunch to be honest with you).....but I had to pee through like 98% of the show....but I am always afraid that I wont be able to find my seat again....or that I'll miss a really important part of the show and you dont pay 200 a person to go and see a show like that so you can miss something important because you had to potty.....so I sat diligently in my chair.....thinking the whole time about how I could hold it instead of really paying attention to the show.....LOL.....good thing I didnt miss anything.....

This is us right before we went and saw Zumanity.....SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Funny......I wouldnt tell everyone to go and see it....because its not a show that is for everyone....it was crude and raunchy.....and not at all suitable for anyone without that kind of sense of humor....but we had a blast.....

If any of you ever get the chance there is a little bakery right in the middle of New York New York where they sell the most beautiful cakes....Jason couldnt resist....and after telling him he could only have one....although they were very reasonable....he choose this one.....

And LOVED every bite of it!!!!!!! He even let me snag a couple of bites!!!! And for those of you who know Jason.....thats a feat in itself.....

Vegas is one of those places where its not that easy to get pictures together when your by yourself.....but me and Jason went out anyways and walked the strip.....and stopped in every casino and took pictures along the way.....

I actually came up with this ingenious idea to try and find people who looked like they were alone too....taking random pictures of each other and asked them if they wanted a picture together, because I would be more then happy to take it for them....and in return they would always take one of us....which was wonderful....and our newest fun thing to do in Vegas.....well mine....not Jasons.....he thought it was awkward....and he doesnt trust people with our camera....

Us leaving Las Vegas....its always so sad to go.....we never really want to since its one our favorite places.....so we always take one of these.....

And then we remember where we leaving to go to.....HOME.....where Spikey and Felix are.....

Well thats all for the Vegas pictures.....Im sure it will take me another month to post one about Christmas....who knows....it looks like Im about 6 months behind....so it might be just around July.....LOL.....Hope all is well for everyone else.....
