The zoo, who knew it could be so inappropriate at times?

WARNING: Although funny, this blog contains some images that may be deemed inappropriate.

So Jason took a couple of weeks off for vacation and since gas prices are so high we decided to not venture very far from home. Most of the time we stayed home and watched movies or played video games or went shopping, but this Thursday we decided it would be lots of fun to go to the zoo. So we called my grandparents and this is what we encountered....

This is me feeding the giraffes...

This is Jason getting mad at a giraffe. LOL. I don't really know why he was mad at the giraffe but this picture is priceless because if he had been looking at the camera I have a picture of him as a little boy (actually most of the pictures of him, up to a certain age) that looks exactly like this without the giraffe.

I love this picture. I think it would be even better if the giraffe was sticking his tongue out though. Maybe I'll have to photo-shop it before I put it in a frame. LOL.

They have all these little caves all around the zoo for some reason and so this is a picture of me and Jason being "cave people" for my grandma.

Ohhhh no, the bear got grumpy! Dgma to the rescue! (I think it would be a better picture if my grandma looked the least bit concerned, or if she was actually feeding him to the bear it would be more realistic) LOL.

Pet the Wallaby time was probably one of my favorite parts of the zoo. You got to pet one of the babies, but you weren't allowed to touch his head. He gave us all kisses which was cute. It felt a lot like a cat. (I kinda want a wallaby too=)

You would think that this was a statue, but Jason is just that good with a camera and he has perfect timing. It's a beautiful picture though, I think we're gonna blow it up and frame it.

Ok, this is where the zoo turned vulger. It all started out very innocent. The orangutans are a lot bigger then I ever remembered, which is funny because the last time I went to the zoo I was really small, so I put my hand up to this particular one to see the difference. You could imagine my surprise when he very quickly yanked his hand back and gave me this gesture at the mere concept of being that close to me. I shrieked in utter shock, which of course got everyone around us attention, and that's when the flash bulbs started going off. So needless to say, everyone that was at the zoo in the area at the time now has a picture of me and the monkey flipping me off. I don't know what I did to him but he really didn't like me. Maybe it was the fact that I kept calling him a pretty little monkey?

On a lighter note....I want an orangutan, lol, but a different one. When I walked away from the mean monkey as he continued to flip me off the whole way, I ran into this one. He was the sweetest little creature that ever lived. He automatically came up to the glass and put his hand up to mine, and squished his little squishy face up to the window and started giving me kisses. He was so cute, I just wish that I could have given him a huge hug. As we were walking out though I was informed that you can adopt an animal for $25.00 and you get to say you own an animal at the zoo for a whole year. So Im gonna keep my fingers crossed. (Although I asked him for a bunny and I was told I couldn't have one of those, so it might take a miracle to get him to consent to an orangutan).

All and all we would have to say that the zoo was a hoooot, but now were pooped! Hahahehe... Nobody thought that joke was funny when I said it at the zoo either. =( Oh well at least it was corny just like me.

Well thats all for now. Jason's vacation officially ends on Tuesday morning so I will try and post some more vacation and house renovation pictures then. Until then we hope you all have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend.

The new house

Wow, its taken me a long time to figure this whole blog thing out....I used to think that I was pretty savy on a computer, but now I know I should be enrolled in classes or something =(
So most of you probably already know that right after my last post we found the perfect house for us. We put in an offer, it was denied because although it was the first day that the house was on the market and we were the first one's to put in a bid, they allowed it to be shown over the weekend and there were a couple of other offers on the table by Monday morning. So we had to go back at them with another offer (our best offer) and pray that it was good enough. So a couple of days later we got word that we had gotten the house, but not based on monetary appeasment but because our closing date was sooner and since it was a repo, they wanted to unload it fast! So a couple of days from then we were signing papers. So here is a picture of us getting ready to leave to go sign the papers.

Here is the very first picture of our very first house!!!!

The original owners took really good care of the place. You could tell that they did not mean to lose this house, they loved it and it was very apparent. The only qualm I had with them was there color choices. They were not us in any way, although after painting pretty much the entire house, I really wish the colors had been "us". Jason kept asking me, are you sure you can't live with this color at least for a while? I should have listened to him especially when I had to do the ceilings. Apparently that takes talent that I don't have too, because I kept getting paint in my eyes.
This was the color of our living room. It doesn't look very dark in these pictures, but in all actuallity it was blood red.

This was the color of our master bedroom, and the entire bathroom including the ceiling... It was a seafoam green. It wasn't really that hard to paint but like I said I had more paint in my eyes then I think I ever got on the wall.

This dark blue was on the walls of one of the guest bedrooms, it took a lot of primer. The other guest bedroom was neon pink. They will always be known to us as the blue room and the pink room no matter how long we live here and see the white walls.

You can't really see how far up or how much of the house was covered in this tan-brownish color but everything that wasn't red, blue, seafoam green, or neon pink was brown. It was in the living room, the entire upstairs, the hall ways and every nook and cranny in the kitchen.

The kitchen in all its brownish glory.
I made Jason take this picture. The blue room was the last room that we completed. We were both so exhausted it wasn't even funny. He was working all day long and then he would go straight to our new house and work another 8 hours to get our house ready to live in. We didn't actually move in until it was all completed. I felt really bad but I needed the house to feel like ours before we moved in, and he complied although not understanding completely. Jason is such a nice guy. I love you baby!!! And thank you again to my dgma and my grumpy who came over and helped paint almost every day so that I wouldn't be by myself when I didn't feel good. =)
Well thats all for today, I will try and update this a lot more frequently now that I know how to do it. I have a ton more pictures of the befores and afters, and what we've been doing more recently that I will post on here asap. We love and miss you all.
